Is Backboard.io one of the tools we are required to use for this hackathon?

I am writing to clarify whether we are required to use Backboard.io.
I received an email mentioning it, but I noticed it wasn't listed in the hackathon overview or among the official sponsors.
Could you please confirm if this tool is mandatory for our project?

    Hello - There is no need to use backboard.io at all in the project. Could you please share more details of the email? Was it sent from our team or from Devpost?

    I've likewise received such e-mails that claim to be from "backboard.io" for every Devpost hackathon I've joined.
    They do not come from Devpost or Prompt Opinion.
    The sender usually asks to discuss your project submission to (Insert name of hackathon here).
    I suspect they are either a scam, or a guerilla marketing campaign, driven by web-scraping participants' Devpost profiles.
    I always delete them.
